Formula 1 … so much more than just a race

This really shows the true spirit of the Olympic games. Turkish runner Merve Aydin injured herself during an 800m heat, but still carried on a whole lap visibly in excruciating pain before limping over the finish line and falling to the floor in tears to the cheers of 80,000 fans in the Olympic stadium. For your dedication. For your determination. For never giving up. For being an inspiration. For silencing all the people that doubted you. For keeping the world on the edge of their seats. For making us smile, laugh & cry. Congratulations on the world records. The Olympic records. The 22 medals. On being the most decorated Olympian in history. It’s the end of an era. It may be the last race of your career, but your legacy will live on. From the bottom of many hearts, thank you; for everything. You’ll be missed, but you’ll never be forgotten.
